The Right Objective

I am currently collecting resumes and then interviewing candidates for my department. It's a little odd for me to be on this end of the job search process -- never did I think I would personally be interviewing anybody for anything. Yet here I am.

I never did like the whole job interviewing process (when I was the interviewee) -- it's bullshit, it's frustrating and it always gave me sweaty palms. But the worst part of it all, is updating my damn resume and then trying to come up with a creative cover letter or introductory email. It's all just so contrived.

But today, while reviewing resumes -- something caught my eye and made me literally laugh the fuck out loud. A nice, young man came up with a great "Objective" at the top of his resume. If anything about resumes and cover letters are contrived, it's the dumb-ass "objective", which I have, by the way, completely omitted from my lovely resume.

Objectives usually go something like this:
-- Seeking a challenging career with a progressive organization which will utilize my skills, abilities and education.
OR
-- To obtain a responsible and challenging position where my education and work experience will have valuable application.

But no, this kid got creative. His objective said, nice and simple:
"To pay off my student loans"

Isn't that fucking GREAT?!?!

I immediately picked up the phone and asked him if he was available to come in tomorrow morning for an interview. And I gotta say, I can't wait to meet him.

I reported earlier that, on Friday December 29 at Mansion, there were some sightings -- Mandy Moore, Perez Hilton and Live.

Well, I just found out that also in attendance were: Kristin Cavalleri, Brody Jenner and DJ AM. Hmmm, wonder if any of that was awkward?!

Lohan Takes Over Delano

I realize I am late in posting about NYE in Miami, but honestly, there were just SO many stars there, that it was actually an overwhelming task to take on (and I am not reporting all the sightings by any means either....)

My girl La Lohan took over the Delano last Wednesday and stayed there thru the New Year.

Here she is outside of the Delano just the other day. I know you think it's odd that she is wearing a jacket in Miami, but I gotta say, it was definitely getting chilly there when I left in the beginning of December.

Miami Scoop

So, I know I am not living there anymore, but I still feel obligated to post on Miami. This feeling will surely pass soon, but as of right now, I am still thinking about, and semi-missing, that crazy place.

Last Friday night (2 nights before NYE), a few stars hit up Mansion (my 2nd home). From what I hear, Mandy Moore was in the house. And my source tells me she has cankles (did I spell that right?!).

Also at Mansion, Perez Hilton trying to dig up some more gossip, and the band Live was in the house as well. They, unfortunately, did not perform. What ever happened to them?!

Another New Home

After 4 days of apartment hunting -- Ryan and I fell in love (and I am not talking about with each other all over again.....). We fell in love with an apartment. We are so in love with this place that we are paying hundreds of dollars more a month than our original budget allowed.

This apartment was just too incredible to turn down -- it is complete with a free-standing bar in the living room, a custom built-in bed, 2 bathrooms, amazing views from the 26th floors, and most importantly (brace yourself), automatic drapes. Yup, player....

Damn Blogger

Blogger.com went and changed the system on me -- it just took me 15 minutes to figure out how to log in. (Oh yea, I am at work....should I be wasting my time like this?)

Ok, now I can begin to post again.....and waste many valuable hours when I should really be planning multi-million dollar programs.....love it!
